Wike Remains My Principal, Says Gov Fubara

During the rededication service of the 2023/2024 Legal Year of the Rivers State Judiciary in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Governor Fubara expressed his unwavering support for Governor Wike, emphasizing that the recent political turmoil in the state is in the past, and he called for peace in the oil-rich region. The event took place at Saint Cyprian’s Anglican Church on Hospital Road in the state capital.

Governor Fubara acknowledged that despite the challenges faced by the state, the current phase of political discord will eventually pass, and his administration will fulfill its promises to the people. He also urged his supporters to refrain from using abusive language against perceived opponents, emphasizing that he had not authorized such behavior.

This public gathering marked the first meeting between the two politicians who played significant roles in the recent political conflict. Governor Wike, who serves as the FCT Minister, arrived at the church service towards its conclusion and exchanged a handshake with his successor. They both sat on the same row during the service.

In a lighthearted manner, Governor Fubara requested that the congregation refrain from recognizing guests to avoid any inadvertent misconduct.
