Nigerian Afrobeat sensation, Burna Boy, disclosed the surprising reason behind his rejection of a $5 million deal in Dubai. The Grammy-winning artist declined the lucrative offer to perform in the UAE because he would not be permitted to smoke marijuana during his stay.

Burna Boy explained that the laws in the United Arab Emirates prohibit smoking in public areas, including parks and beaches. He emphasized his preference for places where he can freely enjoy marijuana.

His decision has sparked a variety of reactions, with some defending his choice, while others express concern about potential addiction.

This isn't the first time Burna Boy has spoken out about his stance on marijuana, as he has previously advocated for its legalization in Nigeria, citing hypocrisy as the main reason for its prohibition.

In a similar vein, other Nigerian artists like Naira Marley and Kizz Daniel have also been open about their struggles with smoking and the difficulty of quitting the habit.
