Messi's 8th Ballon d'Or Bid Gains Ronaldo's Support

The clamor for Lionel Messi's eighth Ballon d'Or is gaining momentum, with the endorsement of Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazario. Ronaldo believes Messi is the rightful recipient of the award, which will be presented on October 30 in Paris, where Messi, representing Inter Miami, will contend with Manchester City's Erling Haaland. Messi's exceptional 2022-23 season, crowned by his World Cup victory with Argentina and his contributions to Paris Saint-Germain's French Super Cup and Ligue 1 triumphs, underscores his deserving candidacy. Despite the prevailing notion of a quieter club season, the 36-year-old managed to amass 21 goals and 20 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions for PSG.

Ronaldo lauds Messi's World Cup performance, likening it to the legendary campaigns of Pelé and Maradona, and unequivocally endorses him for the Ballon d'Or. Ronaldo was quoted by Sportskeeda saying, "The Ballon d'Or should unquestionably be awarded to him, Lionel Messi."
