Merry Men 3" Emerges as the Week's Nollywood Blockbuster


This week, the latest installment in the Merry Men film series has taken the top spot in Nollywood movie theaters. Directed by Moses Inwang and featuring an ensemble cast, the sequel introduces a compelling narrative where three of the merry men confront Dafe (Chidi Mokeme). Dafe, feeling betrayed after being abandoned during a past mission in Russia, embarks on a quest for revenge against his former comrades and corrupt politicians, believing they've forsaken their mission to bring about justice.



According to data from the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), "Merry Men 3" achieved a seven-day gross of ₦33.4 million, securing its position as this week's most-watched Nollywood movie. This impressive performance displaced "Expandables 4" to second place on the chart, with a seven-day gross of ₦14.6 million and a total gross of ₦97.9 million.


Further down the list, "Something Like Gold" claimed the fourth spot, earning ₦11.5 million in the past week and amassing a total gross of ₦45.1 million. As more exciting titles are set to hit the cinemas in the coming week, cinema enthusiasts eagerly anticipate how the rankings will evolve.
