WhatsApp set to launch new Messaging feature

In the dynamic tech landscape, maintaining relevance amid fierce competition requires constant innovation. WhatsApp is demonstrating its commitment to staying ahead by introducing a new feature focused on message control.

As reported by Wabetainfo, this instant messaging platform is enhancing its instant video messaging feature with additional control options. This feature is available to WhatsApp users who have updated to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS (version 23.18.1.70) or the WhatsApp beta for Android (version 2.23.18.21).

With this new addition, users gain the ability to disable instant video messages whenever they desire. Previously, in the July app update, WhatsApp had already allowed users to record and share video messages.

By default, this feature was always active, meaning users could toggle between video messages and voice notes by tapping the voice note button. However, for those who prefer not to use video messages, manually selecting their preferred messaging format could be cumbersome. This latest update grants users more flexibility.

Now, users can simply toggle off the feature, and tapping the voice note button will no longer switch to video messages. It's important to note that this option does not block short video messages; users can still receive and view them. However, they won't be able to send video messages with this feature turned off.

The toggle for managing instant video messages is currently available to some beta testers who have updated their WhatsApp beta for Android via the Google Play Store and WhatsApp beta for iOS through the TestFlight app. It is expected that this feature will gradually roll out to more users in the coming days.
