ITALIAN label Dolce & Gabbana has unveiled its new collection of hijabs and abayas catering to Muslim women for the first time.
Stefano Gabbana, one half of the pair behind the big-name fashion house, debuted the new line on Instagram.
The luxury range, which can be viewed in full on Style.com/Arabia, comes in soft neutrals like black and beige made from lightweight fabrics.
Some pieces also feature intricate floral and citrus lace detail, in a nod to the designer’s spring 2016 collection.

High-end Western labels have been eyeing off the flourishing Muslim market in recent years, with designers such as Tommy Hilfiger and DKNY already having made the leap.
The move to woo the Arab world is also considered financially smart, with a report by Thomson Reuters finding spending for Muslim clothing and footwear is expected to swell to AU$678 billion by 2019 — a jump from AU$373 billion in 2013.
